SOLIVAGANT STORY
Solivagant is a conceptual instrumental album about losing home, preserving memory, and carrying a vanished world within you.At the heart of the story is Emma, an astronaut entrusted with a mission to gather and deliver the Archive to safety. It holds the memory of humanity: its stories and voices, art and science, knowledge and discoveries, and the countless traces of a civilization that once existed. But deep space is unpredictable. When the systems begin to fail and the Archive itself is at risk of being lost, Emma faces an impossible choice. Can she find a way to save humanity’s memory when itчй is about to disappear for a second and final time?Behind its science-fiction world lies a deeply human story: what happens when a place you once called home becomes unreachable, and memory becomes the only place where it can still exist.Solivagant follows the fragile things we carry with us when returning is no longer possible: memories, voices, fragments of places, and the traces of a world we refuse to let disappear.
THE MAKING OF SOLIVAGANT
Solivagant began with a sound. The first track was Ethereal Dream, built around the handpan, and I wanted to keep exploring that texture.Zero Gravity followed, and for the first time I felt there was a story inside the music. Where Ethereal Dream felt calm and almost suspended, Zero Gravity carried hope. Then came Cassiopeia, written during a period when I was constantly worried about my parents, who were still living in frontline Kramatorsk. Its anxiety changed the direction of the project. At that point, I knew the story had to be finished.Space has always been personal to me. My grandfather worked in the field of space development in the Soviet Union, and as a child I remember seeing small models of spacecraft and photographs of cosmonauts. That fascination never left. I still look at the night sky, read about space, imagine distant realities and ask myself: what if?For a long time, though, I could not understand what Solivagant was actually about. Then, during a conversation with a colleague, something became clear: this was never meant to be a story about escape. It was a story about a mission. I kept thinking about refugees and displaced people from frontline cities who share old photographs, videos and fragments of their lives before the war. In their own way, they are doing what Emma is trying to do: saving the memory of a life in which they were once happy. The music came easily. The tracks almost found their own order. The plot did not. Every time I tried to make it perfectly logical, parts of it began to fall apart.Eventually, I understood that this uncertainty belonged inside the story. The people who became the emotional prototype for Emma are also living through a reality that often feels fragmented, unstable and impossible to fully explain. Once I allowed myself to stop explaining everything, the story finally found its shape. Looking back now, Solivagant also feels like a farewell to a period of my own life when instrumental music was at the center of my work. This album closes that chapter. What comes next will sound different.
